Lydia is 5 months old now!

I feel like time is just rushing by, and my baby is getting bigger and bigger and it's all happening too fast! Didn't it take about FOREVER for Gabby to accomplish what Lydia has already accomplished? It doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, Lydia turned 5 months old on the 31st, and she's awesome :) She's so much fun, so patient, so easy!
At 5 months, Lydia:
  • Weighs 14.9lbs
  • Has a ton of straight dark hair
  • Has eyes that still could go green or brown. Who knows :)
  • Has a FANTASTIC giggle, straight from her tummy :)
  • Has rolled a few times, but the last couple of rolls scared her and she hasn't been eager to repeat the experience :S
  • Is endlessly patient with her big Toddler sister always wanting to hug her, kiss her, roll her, sit on her, pull her, etc.
  • Has occasionally done the belly-laugh for her big Toddler sister :)
  • Loves her baths SO MUCH that it's hard to clean her, because she is squirming and splashing and wiggling so much! She's also now taking her baths in the big tub with a towel under her head :)
  • still sleeps through the night, from about 10 until about 8 or 9. And still naps about 3 times a day.
  • Falls asleep on her own for naps, but has started deciding she HAS to have mommy there to tuck her in at night, or else she'll wake up again at midnight.
  • Will take a bottle if she HAS to :)
  • Has chubby feet :)
  • reaches for EVERYTHING
  • and has strong little pinching fingers
  • rolls her R's when she's angry and yelling, which just makes us laugh at her...
  • has begun putting everything in her mouth
  • can push up so that she looks like she COULD crawl, except that her tummy is still on the floor :)
  • LOVES her Jolly Jumper. Is a Jolly-Jumping Pro.
  • has started doing the jolly-jumper-Jump even if you're just holding her :)
  • will arch her back and twist her head as far as she can while she's on the change table to see what's going on in the doorway :)
  • will either be completely distracted when she's nursing and keep turning to see what her big sister's up to, or else she's completely focused on eating like a starving baby. Both make me laugh :)
We're so glad to have Lyddie as a part of our family! She's clearly got a sense of humor, she's strong and healthy, and super cute to boot :) We love her so much and are so proud of her already :)

  1. She looks so much more like you, yet so much like Gabby too. What a sweetheart!
