changes

lots of new stuff going on! I feel like it all can't come fast enough, but also that everything is changing very suddenly!
all of these things happening when they are just makes me think that God must really be watching out for us. it's a comforting feeling.
so far so good with the baby. Paul got to hear the heartbeat on Saturday (we changed the appointment 'specially) and the nurse said that the baby has a "very GOOD heartbeat" :) Our kid is so smart :) Also, when we were listening to the heartbeat, the nurse found it, made her comment... and then our little imp moved! like "haha, can't catch me!" and the nurse had to chase around for the heartbeat again. So excited to meet our silly baby in person :)
Paul is loving his job :) It's not accounting, but it's something else that he's good at, and he got a sort of mini-promotion at work. Not more pay, of course, just more responsibility. Because they trust him. (they should :)) We're hoping that they'll hire him on for keeps, so that it is a more sure thing beyond the end of this year, and that they'll pay him more. 'Cuz we want a house!
and speaking of housing... we're moving :) It's going to be a very big move. All the way to the next door down the hall. :) Our neighbours (and current resident managers) Lisa and Trevor, are moving to Brooks for new work, and they've recommended us to take over for them here in the building! we're very very VERY excited - a bigger apartment for half the rent that we're paying now, AND we get paid to live there. And like I said - the timing is perfect, because once the recital is over in June, I won't be teaching again until the baby is a few months old (at least) and we were going to be stretched tight for funds. But now I can work from home, and we'll have more room for baby. It's perfect. And again, with the happy feeling that we're being looked after - time and again we've thought about moving away from here, finding something cheaper, finding a change, and every time, we've felt like we were supposed to stay here. It was very annoying, because this army brat loves to pack! But now we know why we were supposed to stay :)
as for more current stuff... we had hamburgers last night at family dinner :) They were reeeeally yummy :) I've been craving burgers for the last while... when we buy them, Wendy's has puny ones, Denny's has pretty decent ones, and Peter's has the most satisfying ones. What about MY hamburgers, you're wondering? The thought of cooking meat lately... blech. The closest I came to it - I was craving chicken'n'dumplins, Southern Style, and I couldn't think of where to get them here in Calgary (I know. the number of times we eat out in a week now is appalling.) I tried Applebee's, because they have Applebee's in Virginia... and the guy that I talked to on the phone suggested that I try a Chinese restaurant! I was crushed. I finally ended up getting a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken and making my own - they were so good that Paul, one of the pickiest eaters I know, even took the leftovers for his lunch the next day. Victory!

  2. I love the new look! Very you. It's great that everything is going well and the Paul actually ate the leftovers. Maybe you'll have to cook that more often.
