I'm in love with Sudafed. LOVE it. I can breathe again. Every time I get sick with a cold, I realize how much I take for granted when I can breathe through my nose.
Gabby's getting better, too. We didn't use saline drops nearly as much today. We've left off putting Vicks Vapour Rub on her feet. She's started eating full feeds today instead of snacking when she can breathe through her nose.
Today I had energy. It was fantastic. The kitchen got cleaned, the bathtub got scrubbed, laundry and things got put away, the foyer and laundry rooms got mopped and wiped down, stuff got done around the building and in our apartment above and beyond what Paul has been doing on his own. And Gabby is in bed, and I'm not already exhausted into unconsciousness!
Paul got puked on today. Major Puke. On his head. He wouldn't let me take a picture, which was really sad, because it would have made a fantastic picture. A little got on his glasses, a little more in his ear... He said he was "launching" her. I missed the event itself, but the aftereffects were really wonderful. Gabby done good. For some reason, Paul insisted on another shower right away.
Another big event today: The end of The Swaddle. For the past 2 nights, Gabby has been going to bed in a swaddle. Like she always has. For the past 2 mornings, we've woken up to find her in a tangle of blankets, grinning up at us with her accomplishment. With her over-blanket underneath her. Talking and cooing to the ceiling light. This evening as I was trying to get her to go to sleep, and she kept undoing her swaddle, and I kept trying to redo it... I finally clued in. She's not crying because she's tired, or hungry... she's angry because I keep pinning her arms down. Her arms, which are attached to her hands, which have recently become very fascinating. The hands that have the fingers. The right hand that has the middle three fingers that taste so good. Apparently. So we did the SleepSack from Gwamma, the one that she bought before Gabby was even born. The white one that she bought before we even knew that Gabby was a girl :)
Wish us luck with Night the First of the SleepSack!
Hooray that everyone is feeling better! How'd the Sleepsack go? Did Paul have to shower after the puiking episode?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear a baby wake up cooing instead of screaming.....
We've figured out if our kids were animals Josh would be a puppy and Caitlyn would be a cat. LOL. Hsssss.
Haha. I love the description of the puking episode! Poor Paul :) Grant was the one who only ate peanut butter on white bread, and he's on his mission now. They do grow up fast!!
