A few really cute things she does right now:
- She'll reach around and pat you on the back. like, really hard. Thump, thump, thump. And she smiles when she does it. So I think she's imitating us patting her on the back.
- I was holding her while in conversation with a friend, who was telling me a story. Gabby started nodding her head really seriously while looking at me, and I realized that I was nodding along to the story. If ever I wonder what I'm doing, I guess I just need to look at my little girl :)
- Gabby is perfectly content playing with whatever you give her, as long as I let her be in the same room with me. That means if I'm cleaning the kitchen, or in the shower, or whatever... she doesn't want TV. She wants to be close.
- Our little monkey will often get a book and come and climb into one of our laps. Or sit on the floor or couch by herself and read a book.
- She loves Paul's keys. My keys are alright, but if she has to choose, you'd better not try and take Paul's keys away from her.
- This little weirdo spits out Kraft Dinner. She gobbles raw broccoli, any fruit, beans, whatever fruits and veggies we give her. She also likes pizza, but she eats it flat-side against her face. As in, eats a hole right into the middle of a slice. It's pretty cute.
- She gives great hugs. Spontaneously, and often. Little arms wrapped around your neck is a great feeling.
- Gabby has started understanding "picking up" - she loves getting praise for putting things away :)
- When reading, she likes to point to the words. And she likes to point to the different characters and be told what noise they make. And she has some of her favorite books memorized - as in, before she turns the page, sometimes she'll tell you what's on the next page (ball. moon. ahhh!)
- She's a climber. I was a climber, too. So it makes me a little bit proud watching her struggle her way up onto a chair, and then try to get away with getting up onto the table. Or getting on top of the moving boxes. Or trying to throw a leg over the edge of the back of the couch. Or even to get inside the dishwasher. Because I have pictures of me at her age doing all of those things. And I think it's hilarious that she's doing them too.
- She still loves chasing and being chased. And she has an infectious giggle.
- Gabby likes to sing with mommy :) sometimes she'll be yelling, so I'll sing a single note, and then she'll focus on me and sing the note with me, and we'll both just keep "singing" together. she loves it, and it cracks me up :)
i love how kids pick up on things that we do. Sounds like you have your handsful with an active little one like her.
