I received this gorgeous Dahlia from church on Mother's Day, and it was full of huge blooms and a few more buds that bloomed a week later... and then all of the flowers withered and died, and it's been about 2 months... I was really afraid that I had killed it. I was so determined that, with our kitchen window, I would NOT be a killer of plants any longer. Because I have killed every other plant that I've had since I've been married, including the cactus that was a gift from my MIL. Yes, a cactus. I killed a cactus.
So you can imagine my delight when my little plant did this:
And because G was jealous that I was taking pictures of a flower and not of her:
And yes - that's what her hair looks like when she gets out of bed :) Paul (ever the Proud Daddy) got some 360 shots after we brushed her hair with just water:
In other news, the other thing I am most excited about is my New Blog for creative stuff :) I would love if you checked it out, left a comment, even became a follower! I want feedback :) This is where I'll be posting regularly about all of the home decor, etc that I do!
Also, this is our last and final week of resident managing. Thank Goodness. Because I stopped caring about people wanting to see apartments for rent/cleaning/tenant issues a few weeks ago. But there is that little bit of guilt that comes from not caring, even though technically it is still my job. Just waiting for my paycheque to go through on Thursday and then giving back my keys and the blackberry!
And... down to the last 6 1/2 weeks of pregnancy. That comes as a pretty large shock to me - where has the time gone??? I am SOOOO not ready for another baby - the baby's room is still a pile of stuff, we haven't really given any further thought to names, my deep freeze is empty, I have no plan! How did we get to this point and not even realize it?
Oh - and one more thing, I've cut my hair :) I have no pictures, but it feels great to have spent a bit of time on myself this last week! The three of us went to the mall, and Paul chased Gabby around while I had my mane chopped off - probably a good 6 inches, so it is just below my shoulders again. And it feels healthy (it's been ages) and nice to just sit and not do anything at all except to sort of be pampered :)
I kill most of my flowers too and the first I didn't, an africian violet, lasted for about 4 years and then along came curious Cloe and no more flower :( So now I am attempting to grow them outside... yeah I'll let you know when I get that under control LOL.
ReplyDeleteGabby's curls are soo cute! Now that Cloe's hair is longer the cutls are mostly on the ends of her hair.
Congrats on the new hair cut!! That was always my after baby treat. 3 months after each kid was born I went to a hair dresser and said they could do whatever and would enjoy the 1 -2 hours of me treatment. It was always at that 3 months mark I would start feeling like I was nothing but a big feeding machine and would love that boost. I think celebrating almost being done RMing and new baby almost here is a good reason too.
As for the new baby, I am sure you will have everything ready intime, because you have the time now :)
