Yup yup, the baby has finally arrived! This is just the quick post to let people know.
She was born Aug 31st at 2:27 PM. She weighs 8 pounds 8 ounces and is 20 inches long. The doctor said she looked perfect (2 for 2 :P) Mommy and baby are doing great and will probably be coming home tomorrow (Wednesday). Everything went well. A few small hiccups along the way but nothing too serious.
Gabby got to meet her sister today. It went pretty well. She spent most of the time on Julie's lap, but she did "hold" her sister and spent a lot of time looking at the "baby".
Julie told me that a conversation with the girl that was sharing her room was overheard.... apparently the nurse asked if the father of the baby was going to be arriving any time soon to pick her up or help her out in any way and she said that he didn't want anything to do with her or the baby. I look at my 2 girls and can't imagine wanting nothing to do with them. It hurt just listening to Julie tell the story to me. I couldn't imagine it for a moment.
Anyway.... things are going well. Much better than last time for sure.
I know i already said it but congrats! yay for healthy baby and Mommy! So happy for you

ReplyDeletecongrats julie, paul and gabby. can't wait to hear more details and see some pictures! sad story overheard - some people just don't realize the amazing blessings they are missing out on when they choose not to be parents! your girls are lucky to have such loving and attentive parents.
